Banana Bungalow Miami is one of the largest hostels in the country. We are located across the street from the white sands of Miami Beach, in a historic landmark hotel, on the border of the Art Deco District. Surrounded by a tranquil canal, with boating from our private pool side dock, we are a short walk to Miami's hip nightclubs, shops and cafes. We can be reached by public transportation very easily from the Airport, Greyhound and Amtrak Station.


Banana Bungalow Miami has private and shared rooms. All private rooms have a bathroom, phone, A/C, cable TV, and either one king size bed or two queen size beds. Single/Double rooms on the parking side start at $67.76 plus tax; rooms on pool or canal side start at $76.23 plus tax. Please email for prices for your specific date request. There's a $10 charge for each additional person. Airline employees get a 12% discount off the above rates. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

 Our shared rooms can accommodate up to 140 guests sleeping 6 per room. Shared rooms cost between $17-$19 (depending on season and room). All rooms have a bathroom, phone, A/C and TV. We provide lockers in the dormitory rooms (for which you need to provide your own lock). There are also have small safety deposit boxes in the lobby. We also provide bed sheets and pillowcases for the dormitory beds.


Banana Bungalow Miami features the most extensive list of amenities of any hostel in the USA. Included are a large free form swimming pool, patio, restaurant, full bar, free theater, arcade/billiards room, guest kitchen, ice machine, vending machines, pool side BBQ, ping pong table, travel agency, pay phones, fax facilities, Internet access and laundry room. Our rooms all have our festive tropical-jungle theme. Ample private parking is available at no cost. Our Tour and Activities Desk arranges tours to many places such as Key West, Orlando and the Everglades. It also organizes a variety of daily activities. Please stop by our fully stocked pool side bar, featuring daily drink specials (open from Noon till Midnight), and take advantage of inexpensive meals at our café style restaurant. Reception is open 24 hours.

Banana Bungalow Miami can be reached by public transportation very easily from the Airport, Greyhound and Amtrak Station. There is a shuttle bus that you can get from the airport called Super Shuttle, which costs $11.00 per person. You can also take the public bus; exit the airport at Terminal E, take the J bus that says "Beaches" going Eastbound to 41st Street and Indian Creek. Transfer to the C bus or F/M bus going South and get off at 23rd and Collins, we are located across the street from the bus stop. The bus fare is $1.25 plus $.25 for a transfer ticket. Ask the first bus driver for a transfer ticket and use this to get on the second bus. Buses run from 6:00am until 1:00am and are safe to travel on. The bus journey takes approximately one hour. By car, it takes approximately 15 minutes. Follow signs to "the Beaches", continue along Route 836, and go over Mac Arthur causeway. Once over the causeway, you are in Miami Beach and must take a left onto A1A, Collins Avenue. Continue north on Collins Ave. until you see the Banana Bungalow just after 23rd street on the left hand side.


Banana Bungalow Miami Beach regularly organizes beach volleyball matches, parties on the pool patio, night-club outings and arrange special deals with local establishments. Our Tour and Activities Desk arranges tours to many places in South Florida, such as Key West, the Everglades, Orlando and Cape Canaveral. It is also possible to rent out our beach cruiser bikes, kayaks, boogie boards and other beach accessories. All our tours, activities and rentals are set up and run by our full time activities coordinator. The Tour and Activities Desk is open daily from 8am to 8pm.

Our cafe is open daily from 8am - 9:30pm. In addition to a FREE continental breakfast consisting of toast, butter, jam, coffee and tea from 9:00am to 10:00am, our restaurant has meals for under $4.00. For those travelers who prefer to cook their own meals, we offer a full common kitchen with outside dining facilities.
